Abstract:
Prior to the events of 9/11, there was some fledgeling movement towards homeland security. The security of the United States is somewhat dependent on its relationship with Canada, so it is in the best interests of both nations to understand each other in these areas. This article is essentially a primer on Canadian internal security legal mechanisms and policy. It also recounts several counter-terrorist and anti-terrorist operations conducted in Canada from 1970 to the 1990s.
